OUR FIRST APP - BEAT TITAN METRONOME
Turkish usuls, aksak metres, polyrhythm, and a setlist that remembers every song. Five modes on one sample-accurate engine.
For people who play for a living, and for the students learning to. Simple enough to use without reading anything.
STYLE MODE
Nim Sofyan 2/4. Türk Aksağı 5/8. Devr-i Hindi 7/8. Devr-i Turan 7/8. Düyek 8/8. Each one plays with its own strong, medium and weak accents.
Balkan, Latin, African, pop and jazz patterns are there too. But the usuls are the reason this app exists.
NO TEMPLATES
Beat Titan does not hand you a ready grouping for 7/8 or 9/8. It hands you the beats and lets you set each one: strong, medium or weak.
So 9/8 can be 2+2+2+3, or 3+2+2+2, or whatever the piece actually asks for. The screen here is a song in 10/8 — Curcuna — grouped by hand.
ON STAGE
Each song keeps its own tempo, time signature, subdivision and accents. Tap the next song and start. Count-in gives the band its bars before the song begins.
Fixed tempo and time signature, with subdivisions.
Setlists in song order, for live work.
Tempo rises or falls on its own.
Two layers at once 3:2, 5:4 split across your ears.
Ready patterns: usuls, Balkan, Latin, jazz.
UNDER ALL OF IT
Beat Titan writes its own audio buffer sample by sample rather than waiting on a timer, and the interval between beats is kept as a fraction instead of being rounded to whole samples. This is the part of the design meant to keep long sessions and awkward divisions — nine, ten, twelve — from slowly pulling apart.
The on-screen flash is delayed by the buffer length so that the light and the click line up on wired output. On Bluetooth the sound carries its own extra delay, which the app cannot see.
Five modes, Turkish usuls, setlists. Phone and desktop.

For the people who carry a folder of paper to every gig. Same rules as the first: one job, no ads, no accounts, no internet.

It starts with a question we get in almost every lesson. For now: a plan and a pile of notes.

Lavarn Studio comes out of twenty years of teaching and playing music. That is where the problems come from — the ones we ran into on stage, and the ones our students kept describing in lessons.
Every app starts in a lesson room or at a rehearsal, not at a desk.
